10.2 Licence and seats
Activate your install, share its seats between companies, and give them to people.
Your licence names one plan, such as Pro, and a number of seats. A person with a seat gets the plan. A person without one gets Free: they keep everything they made, and see a line at the top saying so.
Activate the install
This applies only if Analytics runs on your own servers.
- Sign in as the Super Admin. Until a licence is active, Analytics shows only Activate this install.
- Type the key Xeplr sent you (
XEPLR-XXXXX-…) into Licence key. - Click Activate.
The licence renews by itself every day. If it cannot be renewed:
- First 3 days: a line at the top says how many days are left, and you can close it.
- Up to 10 days: the line stays.
- After 10 days: Analytics stops and shows License expired, please contact admin@xeplr.com.
Share the seats between companies
This is a Super Admin task.
- Open the settings menu (top right) → Licence.
- Under Seats per company, type how many seats each company gets.
- Click Save on that row.
The companies together can’t have more seats than the licence.
Give someone a seat
You need to be a company admin or the Super Admin.
- Open the settings menu (top right) → Licence. Work in the company you want to manage.
- Under Seats in this company, click Give a seat next to the person.
- To free a seat, click Take back.
The change takes effect within seconds.
Good to know
- The plan decides which areas appear. For example, Warehouse and Cubes come with Pro and above, and Workflows is sold on its own. If someone is missing an area, check their seat as well as their role (10.1).
- Fewer seats than holders: if the licence gets fewer seats than people holding them, the people given a seat earliest keep it. The rest show as Free (over the count) until you take seats back.
- How many rows a dataset reads: each plan sets this. Free reads up to 100,000 rows of a dataset, Light 1 million, Pro 10 million, Max 20 million, and Enterprise has no limit. When a report or widget reaches it, a note under the result says the numbers cover only the first rows.
- One company on Free: a person on the Free plan can create one company of their own. Companies others add them to don’t count, and deleting theirs frees the place.
- Limits on companies and workspaces: the licence can limit how many there are. Past the limit, New company or New workspace says so.
