06.4 Fast repeat answers

When a dashboard is opened, Analytics keeps the answer. The next person who asks the same question, with the same board and the same filters, gets it straight away, without asking the database again.

What that means for you

A busy board costs one query, not a hundred. If the whole sales team opens the Monday board at 9:00, the numbers are worked out once and shared.
Cube boards keep their answers until the cube’s next build. A rebuild means fresh numbers automatically.
Live database boards keep answers for a few minutes (5 by default), then work them out again.
Two people asking at the same moment share one run instead of starting two.

Click ↻ Refresh on any widget. It works the numbers out again and stores the new answer for everyone.

Company admins and super admins: any time.

Not yet

Answers are kept for dashboards. Report runs outside a dashboard are not kept yet.
The first view straight after a cube rebuild is worked out fresh, so it can be a little slower.
